Single Planter CP-1
Are you tired of all the hard work and labour that goes into growing and harvesting your own vegetables, herbs and flowers? Do you wish you could reap the benefits with less physical strain? If so, the hand-pulled Single Planter CP-1 is perfect for you.
What is the Single Planter CP-1?
The Single Planter CP-1 is an ingenious, efficient way to transplant vegetables, flowers and herbs. Unlike other transplanters used throughout the world, it is pulled by hand, rather than a motor.
With the Single Planter CP-1, you can transplant 264 seedlings in under a minute. This is accomplished by standing upright, which eliminates countless hours of crawling, kneeling or stooping.
A game changer for farmers and gardeners everywhere
This truly revolutionary invention allows gardeners and farmers alike to get crops into the ground much faster than with traditional planting methods. This is much more than a labour and time saver – the regulated spacing of your seedlings and the protection from transplant shock means your crops grow faster, in greater numbers, and don’t suffer from weed damage with yield turnaround times less than average you would see for traditional planting systems.
With the Single Planter CP-1, you can seize those opportune moments for planting that come along during an Aussie farming cycle. Keep in mind, use of the Single Planter CP-1 requires fairly dry and well tilled soil for maximal results. With the Single Planter CP-1 you can get your plants into the ground in the early morning during the heat of summer, and spend time out of the harsh elements while your seedlings do the work for you!
What should the Single Planter CP-1 be used for?
The beauty of this unique innovation is its use for a wide variety of closely spaced crops. Some of these crops include leeks, onions, scallions and shallots as well as Asian vegetables like bok choy. If it grows in close spaces, you’ll likely find success using the Single Planter CP-1.
The reason is it perfect for closely spaced crops is the space is determined by the length of the paper chain connecting each cell. The paper chain pots are available 50mm, 100mm and 150mm in-row spacing.
This in-row spacing makes the Single Planter CP-1 ideal for chard, kohlrabi, spinach, Asian greens, beets, turnips and more.
To increase your spacing, we offer a special Seeder Blank that only sows seeds in every second hole, thus allowing you to duplicate the spacing between seedlings by leaving every second hole empty. For even more productivity, you can try and pair the Single Planter CP-1 with companion planting and sowing a different crop in those empty holes. Usually you would plant a crop that takes longer to harvest with one that takes less, so when you harvest the earliest crop, the second crop would have enough space to grow.

A revolutionary change for commercial growers
There are many challenges that come with commercial farming in Australia, something Aussie growers no doubt know all too well. For this reason the Curly’s Planters range is such a revolutionary innovation.
Transplanting seedlings with the tractor-pulled products can cut hours each week across transplanting season, making the movement of small to medium crops simple and easy. This tool is particularly useful for commercial farmers who have finely textured and rock-free soil who rely on small spacing to produce crops.
More than a time-saver, the Curly’s Planters work with your body, removing the draining bent-over model of seed transplanting. With hundreds of plants in the ground in seconds, there’s nothing like the satisfaction of land that’s used as efficiently as your energy.
With the roots of this innovation (pardon the pun) stemming from Japan, the name translates to “little pulling buddy” which is appropriate. As a commercial grower your little buddy will cut a furrow for you, unravel your transplants and pack soil too.
